Poster Comp/ Heats/ Screening Room/ The City Finals
Posted 18th August 2022
I hope everyone has had a good rest after the shoot weekend for the 2022 Vista Foundation 48Hours. Here is some information to get you through the next few weeks.
Poster competition:
We will continue our poster competition this year, there will be a pinned post in our FB group until Tuesday which you can join here. We are keen to see all of your creations and there will be a prize of movie vouchers.
Screening room and reviews
Our Screening Room is where other people can write reviews about your film. You should make sure you get your film on YouTube as a private clip or on Vimeo with a password on it, then log in and upload the link to the Screening Room before the heats begin.
You can remove the password from your film once your film is out of competition, but hopefully that will be a while if you do well and you’ll want reviews in the meantime. Find out more about reviews here.
NB - Our Facebook log-in option is currently getting fixed by the web developers/Facebook team. We hope to see that working in a day or so.
Heats
The schedule for the Heats is available on the website. We will add team names to the schedule over the coming week. Heats will kick off on August 20th and run most days through to September 10th.
The Heats will be live streamed online this year, which gives us a great opportunity to check out films from other regions and join in on voting for audience favourites. If your region has watch parties they will be listed on the city info page and be at the same time as thea YouTube livestream on our YouTube Channel.
Watch parties are intended for cast and crew, and aren't public events. Some of the venues have limited numbers of seats so please consider how many people you bring along to the heats. Feel free to share the YouTube livestream online.
Reviews
If people have uploaded a password protected or private film to the screening room, you can review their film after viewing them in the heats. In the spirit of the competition, please keep it positive and encouraging, constructive criticism is ok if it is given with good intentions.
Audience Favourites
We also have audience favourites, you will need a smart phone to vote for your top 3 films for 15-mins after each heat, and then voting will close!
The audiences will vote for their favourite film. The winner will receive a certificate and the coveted role of being the audience favourite.
The City Finals
Tickets are for sale via the Eventfinda Website or you can find the ticket link on the city info page.
The city finals are a public event which are rated and ticketed and these will be in a cinema in most regions. In Auckland and Wellington we have big venues to fill so please do what you can to invite people along and make it a night to remember.
