VF48Hours Lockdown - It's on! April 17 - 19
Posted 15th April 2020
The Vista Foundation 48Hours (VF48), New Zealand’s longest & largest film competition was built around the idea of creative restrictions and presently we’re all living one of the biggest restrictions - a nationwide lockdown. VF48 have devised a mini filmmaking challenge taking place this weekend for those creative individuals with a desire to flex their creative muscles.
The VF48 has a dedicated creative community and community power is what we can all use right now.
Teams will have just 48 hours to write, shoot, cut and deliver a film up to 3 minutes long. It must be made with strict adherence to the Covid-19 restrictions and include elements that we will announce at the online launch on our website and Facebook.
In tradition with his long-standing support for the competition, Peter Jackson is confirmed as a prestigious judge for the mini-competition.
To acknowledge that times are financially tough right now, the registration entry will be free.
The top films will be screened on TV2 in a one-hour best-of show with the Grand Champ awarded the top cash prize of NZ$5,000, from a total cash prize pool of NZ$10,000. In the lead up to the finals, the award-winning platform THE SPINOFF will select and profile seven films, including some behind the scenes material and the filmmaking teams behind them.
VF48HOURS: LOCKDOWN will be free and registrations open Wednesday, April 14th.
THIS WEEKEND: 7 pm, Friday 17th April to 7 pm, Sunday 19 April 2020.
Online Shoot Weekend Launch: 48Hours Facebook Live - Friday, April 17th 6.30 - https://www.facebook.com/48Hours.co.nz
