UPGRADE
Plotted, scripted, edited and acted very well. Overall a comprehensive effort and a very decent film. it makes sense and it sticks to the genre really well.
Identity
Smashed the cinematography award by a fair margin. It's probably the best looking High School film I've ever seen. Some occasional dialogue and a change in pace from the score would have made this a major contender for the win.
Focused on Murder
The most well produced Cowps Productions 48 film that I've seen. The dialogue and script lent itself to the story incredibly well, though the plot didn't hold much weight. The acting from both the accused criminal and the lawyer kept this film entertaining, but the cheesy shot at the end killed the twist for me.
From
Match cut that was done using audio > visual really blew me away, it works incredibly well. An odd take on the genre, an odd film itself in most ways really, quite a risk but they nailed it. Ticked all the boxes, a well deserved win.
Vessels
Visual Effects, Practical Effects, Lighting a man on fire, Gore... Brilliant.... An appropriate match cut, that's some black comedy there. ... Story and acting let them down in the end. Though the audience just fucking LOVED this film!!
And Then The Light Came In
Unfortunately at our screening in heat 2 the issue was for the entire heat, how bright the venue was, with sunlight coming through the skylights it made anything that was visually dark very hard to see (90% of our film :/ ). -- Aside from these technical issues, the film itself was amazing! Dark, gritty and atmospheric, some really chilling scenes that had the audience clenching. Oscar winning stuff! 10/10
Bones
a far cry from the slapstick musical we did last year. Sound really let us down at the heats... Such a shame because the plot really moves along with the dialogue and music. A really great score unheard by the crowd :( Just to clarify it WAS all filmed in one-room... three different scenes were dressed and filmed inside of this one-room.. This was a play on the one-room genre but filmed within the guidelines. :P
