Best Served Cold
A detective is asked to interrogate a lady who is involved with a series of murders and robberies. This short was a very nice classic noir style, shot well, with good attention to lighting and detail in costumes/sets. The ending wraps everything up nicely. Like most 48hour shorts audio recording lacked in areas. The story was good, although its been seen before many times, possibly adding in a different dynamic or plot device could of been an improvement. but overall a clean complete short. Great effort.
With Sympathy
A man makes a fatal decision, which results in his death and people coming to mourn with his Wife. Each person has a motive or reaction to the situation. The wife gets fed up and tells them all to leave. Well shot, nice to watch. The music was well chosen and kept the pace going through out the whole short. Possibly required the addition of a few more establishing shots of the rooms they are in, it felt a little disorientating at times, particularly when the wife is fed up. Reunion is a tricky genre, but this was well told with some good acting and a good amount of character variety details. overall a solid entry. Good job.
Incarnate
A guy is with his partner going to a bar. He forgets his card and goes back to his car to find that a few street thugs are attempting to steal his car. He fights back but they ultimately leave him paralyzed. A mysterious person contacts the now paraplegic, offering to kill the thugs that paralyzed him. The thugs are then killed for what they did. Audio was sketchy, much like 80% of 48hour films :). Had some good parts such as his beating, with consideration of colour grading which is nice to see. Possibly some more attention to detail, yes I noticed the camera gear in the car parks, and he locked his car up with the window down :). Cool idea for revenge, and incorporating it with the genre. A hard genre to keep original but it was un-expected and kept interest going. Well done

The Other Side
Two women are using a park bench at different times of the day. One is a chronic liar and the other is about lose lose a loved one. I was getting into the story, but unfortunately technical glitches made the whole middle section almost un-watchable, leaving a few gaps in the story. The acting was good, with some thought put into the cinematography. Would be nice to see the whole thing without glitches :)

Rob
A guy is lonely in his class. He meets a new slightly strange friend who turns out to be a robot. The robot fights crime at night. An enjoyable watch with many funny parts to it, both in the writing and visually. It got the audience to feel for the main character which is always a good thing. Solid effort, had a good time. Great job.
Lend me a Vein
A vampire is struggling to go to sleep as he needs to suck on human blood. Nice, simple, clean cut. Well shot, using available light and doing it well (i.e. minimal grain). Musical is hard, but I think there was enough to make it classify without the need of breaking into song and dance Disney style. Possibly something else to build some variety, wouldn't have gone astray, but overall a great effort. Well done.
