Another film which didn't find it's genre, the main action was between the protagonist and his bully rather than the protagonist and his love interest. The story and performances were firmly tongue in cheek, but a lot of the comedy fell flat because of this. Re-edit, and this is not the best place to do it but the forums don't link to the reviews directly, but I should've said that you guys gave it a fair shot! Didn't mean to be hard on the film, in 2005 I participated for the first time in 48 hours and made a film I would give 0.5-1 star to today. Take the better reviews and keep on making films!

I liked the ending :)

As a writer and Film Grad, its all about story for me. Overall I found that there were only a quarter of the films shot had a story, this being one of them. I felt the characters were well defined. You knew who was who and it was kept simple and met the genre, being Rom/Com. The audience at the viewing laughed and seemed to enjoy the story and the comedic points and I think if it had been judged by non-producers on the night it might have made into the top 3.

A geeky guy wants to date a girl and fights with another guy. Fairly standard stuff for a rom-com however as has been pointed out most of the film was about his competition than the girl of his dreams. The fight scene at the end with the streetfighter moves seemed out of place with the rest of the film as there was no mention they were fans of the game etc. Not a bad film but not great either.
I am the producer/director/editor of this film, I am also the tutor of the class that produced this film. This is the first time this crew has ever entered the v48hours and also the 1st time most of our team has ever been involved in the production of a short film. It was some real hands on learning for them with one very grumpy director. I thought the team did really well considering this has been a first time of many things for them and just having fun, completing the film, finishing on time and having it received well by others in the Whangarei filming community who were at the heat viewing is huge reward and a big highlight for this team. At the end of the day with this video, it was about having some fun and gaining some practical experience. It has also now wet their appetite for the future in video production and many more v48hours competitions to come. Well done team I thought it was a good solid effort!!!! :)

I thought it was well done for a first time "official" production you guys. I think the hard-nut reviewers should cut y'all some slack considering everyone in this industry has to start from somewhere. BIG THUMBS UP!!!
