One of the better shorts of the night in terms of the story, the look and the excellent use of atmospheric music. Lot's of interesting locations, perfect for a road movie. The whole 'zombie apocalypse' thing is getting a bit old, but this short focussed more on the people and less on the zombies, which was nice. And any team that's willing to shoot a child in the face is OK in my books.

My fav film of the night. Although there were a couple of glitches in the playback, it didn't detract from the film at all. The character development was very deep, and I liked how the movie didn't focus on the zombies too much. When they did appear however, they were very realistic. The news article at the start with Pippa Wetzell was a great way to introduce the concept, quickly. Very Well done.

Fantastic short. Original, dramatic and occasionally funny. Great shots of roads and foot paths, which was very fitting as a road film. I particularly liked the one where the two characters came across the dead person on the bench - the vacant fields and dark sky complemented the shot. The characters were reasonably well established and fitted nicely together. And great use of freeze frame ending with blood going down the camera!

One of the best films of the night. A professional shoot amongst amateurs. Zombie apocalypse idea tried and true but this focussed on a journey rather than the effects (although the zombies were very well done). Continuity would be one of the best in terms of the daylight progressing in line with the film, and no big jumps in scenes except for after killing the little girl (that was awesome) and then suddenly they were on the beach. Well finished at sundown, rounding off what I think was a decent into Dee's Heart of Darkness, as she attacked the zombie without hesitation. In with a shot.

Great film. Definitely one of the best of the night. Only short during the heat with a public figure (Pippa Wetzell). It was a great twist to the typical zombie apocalypse shorts that the 48hour is very accustom to. The film was overall very well shot, had very good actors, a good script and was extremely well edited. Well done!

I thought this was a good road movie and I'm always a fan of zombies in a film. A girl is by herself and as she's about to get attacked by a zombie our hero steps in and saves the day. They then travel on together. I felt the female character changed from nervous and anxious to kicking arse a little quick as there was no indication days were passing, more just a couple of hours. There was also some major wind noise during a couple of the outdoor scenes. I liked the actors in it and the script itself seemed to fit naturally with them but just the minor things above stopped this being a great film for me but still a good film overall.

My fav film of the night. With a overplayed theme like zombies something fresh needed to be brought to the table here and was done so successfully with the road movie groundings and the strong focus on character development. I loved the framing of the film with some awesome shots shining through. Topped off with a realistic script and a fantastic pivotal turning point for the main female character an absolute top notch film.
