Its a shame that this film was not in contention because in my opinion this was far better than the ones which are in. Good story and cinematography. Well acted and directed.

One of my favorites from this heat, too bad it was a DQ, made in the style of an exploitation film we follow the story of two mexicans trying to cross the border but armed soldiers are after them... actually it isn't overly clear what's going on here all we know is they have AK47s and they are shooting at the immigrants. Despite a fairly weak story the shameless humor and unashamed mexican acting by people who obviously aren't mexican it keeps you entertained. Another weak ending though.
This film was rather humorous and certainly well polished technically. I enjoyed the Mexican jokes but the story seemed to be lacking and I was often confused about what was happening.

The movie looked really good and was shot very well but the story was hard to follow. Wasn't quite sure what happened in the ending, but it was definitely a good effort.

I'm not sure if this team was DQ'd because it was late or because it was missing the freeze frame at the end. A confusing storyline about people trying to cross the border and they are hunted by border police. The acting was average and some of the sound was rough. The end of the story added to the confusion. However I liked the style this film was shot in and the sepia/washed out look and old movie style seemed to work well.
I liked the look of this short. It had a nice filter over it, which gave it an original look - I've never seen it before anyway. There was some good age/race inappropriate acting by the cast which made it funny. The editing was a bit muddy however and I couldn't understand what was going on most of the time. Just like Kappa Patrol I can't remember if the required elements were used well. I will look out for what your team does next year:)
Real shame about the DQ as many people would have voted for it simply because of the way it was shot. It really felt like somewhere in Colombia! Story is king, and even though the style of the film was engrossing, the viewer, I feel, wasn't sure where it was going. Definitely work on scripting for next time guys and you will score a lot more in the future :)
