I had no idea what was going on in this body-switch film, and couldn't follow the two different narratives. However, it looked like these guys had fun, and I encourage them to keep it up and come back next year with as much enthusiasm as they approached their effort this year.
Dogs Breakfast
An undercover cop has to wear a 'wire' to get a confession. In a parallel and unrelated story a drug deal is taking place. Both meetings go badly and they are chased off by the other parties. The cop grabs the drug dealer in the park and switches clothes as a way to escape his pursuers only to be hunted by the guys that were after the drug dealer and vice versa. Took a while to understand what was happening at first but I liked what they did with the bodyswitch. The way they did it didn't require any fancy magic or hole in the space time continuum. Another film to suffer from interlacing and the ending was a real WTF moment when they went to subtitles but otherwise an entertaining romp.

A body switch movie? I expected something like 17 Again or that old Tom Hanks movie - nothing dramatic like that, but the demure, simple body switching act was done rather cleverly. It was a tad difficult to understand the plot expand - it took a lot longer than necessary. I felt the camera was all over the place - the actors were running riot, chase scenes galore and blitzkrieg! It's a tough ask by 17 somethings, so the inexpertise shows - but that's what 48 hrs is all about, I guess. The actors were trying too hard to act, so the natural flow of things got lost there, somewhere. I did get tired towards the end, just watching one party chase the other. So although the film makers and actors may have had a lot of fun, it wasn't so much fun for me even if it was only for 7 minutes. I'm not too sure about the veracity of this film title - it is very misleading. It just adds to the fact that most of the films showcased simply had an overdose of the f word for breakfast, lunch and dinner. What is it with people? Ant should probably start a new award: "The most number of expletives and swear words within 7 minutes" award :-) VCR banditos will definitely require more film skills backed by a sound storyline if they are ever to make some impression in the heats in the future.
