Great use of still images with a tasty noir feel. Keep up the good work!
I always enjoy how the Spooceman completely mixes it up and gives us something fresh each year. With this year's solo entry he went with an illustrated graphic novel type approach. Great mood and atmosphere, fantastic illustration skills. I did get a teeny bit lost at the twist at the end with who was who, but then again I also forgot where I parked the car.

Amazing and captivating.

Another very good entry from Spooce Media. The one-man team seems to be working very well for him creatively, and his illustrated narration mystery was yet another slick short. As others have stated, I did get just a little bit confused at the end, but it didn't really matter. The illustrations were all very good, with just the right noir-ish element to them, and the story was cleverly told so as to essentially be a camp-fire story. This heat was stacked with good teams, so unfortunately this was just out of my top three.
Gorgeous drawings, thoughtful use of genre, nice gravelly voice over. Something different and unexpected from this one-man-band and previous Ch-ch winner.

Appropriate music sets the mood for this illustrated short. A detective narrates his observations of a murder that has taken place on a boat - he proclaims that the murderer will never be caught. Spooceman always brings something different to 48HRS -Barbie Dolls, a twin film shot in South Africa on a cellphone and now this noir graphic novel-esque story. It's short and to the point and builds nicely into a satisfying yet wholly predicatable conclusion. The illustrations are pretty cool and the Ken Burn's effect applied expertly. Convincing voice-over too. Certainly one of the few that I would look forward to watching again from this year just so I can take in more of the illustrations. Very well-received and a probable finalist, but do we expect anything else from Spooce?
Needless to say, the audience was once again captivated by the film this one-man-band puts out. Definitely something to remember, and quite unique. Funny how well this film lent itself to a good freeze frame ending...
I wasn't completely sold on this short. While the imagery was exceptionally well drawn, it didn't seem to have the punch it needed. For what this short was aiming to achieve, I felt the storyline never really picked up momentum and could have done with a bit more depth. Though in saying that, the mood and atmosphere for this short though was spot on and both the voice of the narrator and the soundtrack fitted perfectly.

Excellent! I want to see an extension of this little film :) Congratulation to a very talented filmmaker.
