Kingdom Of Shadow

A very stylistic and enjoyable flick, although may require a second viewing to get my head around it properly!!??! The use of a voiceover that paralleled and then swerved violently to the left in contrast to the images was very well executed. Also a nice use of the prop, was good to see the originality of use with that. Really good musical score, which worked well with the images to create just the right mood.

With a name like Arthouse Massacre, a comical logo with a person saying 'i bet you havn't seen a film like this before' as he blows his head off and the cast and crew dressing up for their heat, I was disappointed to see that their film became exactly what I thought they were spoofing. The images were certainly moody and it felt technically very polished but after watching it I felt the film was definitely style over substance. Although I see what they had wanted to do with the story it didn't seem to really come off. Too busy caught up with the visuals to tell the tale? Having said that it was certainly a great achievement over a weekend and was one of the most memorable films from the heat. I actually voted it in as one of my audience favs.

really want to know what actually happened in this film. sound at the final was atrocious and we couldn't hear anything, sooo no idea what it was about. um also was quite dark.
