This was awful. Wow you have really out done yourself. Actually best moment when I saw the tomato sauce bottle for the fake blood in the background of a scene Hilarious!

I liked what you were doing. A woman seeks revenge on the boys who bullied her in High School. She does a road trip to Auckland to track down the now men. I liked the Road Trip - a car moving on a map. I also liked the line of dialogue "it's not like you're going to come back in 20 years and hunt us down for revenge" or something like that. Pity about the open tomato sauce bottle in the background. I saw that too. We can't talk though - we've got a flicky in the back of one of our shots.

After being bullied at school, Bobby Young goes on a road trip to New Zealand to kill all of her previous tormenters. Well, at least on the map she does, as 'Auckland' being followed by turning off the motorway onto Thorndon was greeted with some pretty massive audience laughs. Pretty unoriginal, but some good one-liners. "You do have the time, hammer time!"

I get the feeling I liked this one far more than most. Due to an unfortunate sound problem, this short played the first time through without any dialogue, but then when the problem was fixed, we saw it again at the end of the heat. Fair's fair. To be honest, I liked both versions. Probably because the first time, I was making up my own dialogue in my mind. Honestly though, their dialogue was better. A girl who was tormented by bullies goes on a road trip spanning Wellington to "Auckland" and kills them one by one. When she reaches the final bully Bobby Young, it appears that he's changed and she decides to spare him. Mistake! Hammer time! Okay so the plot was fairly simple, the blood effects fairly hokey and the "road trip" aspect fairly incidental, but an enjoyable short is an enjoyable short is an enjoyable short... Good effort.

There have been a lot of films this year based around the idea of a person seeking murderous revenge on their schooldays bully, Bobby Young. State Highway Death treads that very same path, and hams it up with kitchen-knife stabs and lashings of tomato sauce blood. But this film suddenly gets good with its surprise, funny ending.

The story of this film was such that it was easy enough to follow without the dialog. - In fact I think it could've been fantastic as a 'silent movie' with a piano soundtrack and art-nouveau-ed up titlecards.

I think it had potential, it just fell flat. I would have liked to see the main character in a more positive genre.
