Love has no Music

This film was cute, and pretty heartfelt, so going into it's technical deficiencies would feel like kicking a puppy (A cute Rotty Puppy). You could tell it was a very honest and non-cynical film, so it kind of won me over because of that. Also the lead boy was very good.
Wilmsey
This little movie really was meant to have that emotional pull. I mean a boy and his dog how could you not! Simply shot with no fancy bits and bobs is a musical without true musicians except for the one guitarist, and some off tune hopeless romantics singing about love in the wrong way.

The concept was there and the makers did try their best to weave music into the fabric of the story but the main factor behind the short coming up weak was that the plot may just have been a wee bit too elaborate in the context of 48hours and for an amateur crew.
I enjoyed this film for what it was, which felt like amateur film makers making a movie with a hard genre. But I actually really liked that it had a heart and soul to it, and that's something most 48 Hour films lack. Had a couple nice laughs as well which always helps.

This was a touching film. A lot of teams struggle with musical but I liked the theme of this one. The music didn't seem to go with the melody that your actors were singing but that is more of a technical issue for next time.

Hey what do others mean by amateur film makers? This film was good. They handled the musical genre in an interesting way and I feel sorry for the actors for having to sing the lines. I felt it was a little short and would have been great to just explore love just a little more in the senarios and the boy was great. The story could have gone deeper. The shots were nicely framed and in focus! The lighting was good, especially when the boy was walking over the rise and dark clouds were behind him and he was rich in colour. So I ask again, what was amateurish? Not every film has to have all the bells and whistles. Oh and Well done Death by movies for giving us a film that was emotionally charged and touching, not just going for the easy comedy laughs which alot of the other films in V48 try to do.
