Great work with lighting, smoke and set choice. The makeup was brilliant especially the virus on the hand. Good work all round. The bad guy/scientist was perfect for his role 10/10 for him!!!!!! :)

BOOM. Everything but an explosion. Nice work Mr's and Ladies. Crack up fight scene, wouldn't want to have to do a scene with that mobb member. The bruises and blood looked pretty legit and the virus at the end was pretty darn realistic. That evil doctor was classic! Great choice of actor...give him and Oscar!

Good work guys. The sound wasn't quite 100% but most times it was great. Really good use of that warehouse (set). I thought old Nicki Brick was a wee hottie. Keep that gag in her mouth and she could be a lot of fun...purrrrr, without the bruise on her face of course. Lots of props! Really liked the use of the leaf in the potion to make THE VIRUS which ended up on Nickis hand...so have you got a conclusion in the making? You left me hangin! Well done 9/10
So our hero is a courier or maintenance guy or something, and unwittingly stumbles into an evil lair complete with mad scientist, a bunch of henchmen, and a tied-up prisoner. Action sequences ensue, with a series of quite tense if confusing confrontations with the various heavies. I didn’t understand who our hero really was, how much he knew, and why he cared about all this. Some kind of virus, biological warfare etc (actually quite a nice use of the leaf element there). The mad scientist was easily the most memorable part of the piece, looking the part in a cartoon sort of way, and with an unhurried, Mr. Magoo-esque aspect to his performance. Technically the film all looked very nice, with good picture quality, some decent props and lighting, and a bit of smoke. My main issue was that I often had a hard time following the progression from one story event to the next, with a number of strange editing non-sequiturs present, and as a result some key story beats were missed and I also didn’t have a good sense of the environment spacially. But at least it was clear what they were trying to do, and the end twist, while not very surprising, was nicely appropriate for the genre.
So I'll be completely honest, the first thing that really struck me about this film was the incredible toaster that was used in one of the establishing shots. Rather than manually click the toast down into its customary toasting position, some mechanism slowly lowered the toast automatically into the slot like Han Solo into the carbon freezing chamber. Is it too hard for us to click toast down for ourselves now? Good lord, the machine uprising will surely be upon us any day now. Anywaaaaaay, the toaster was being used by our hero to make breakfast as on the radio, a news announcer explains a politician's daughter is missing. Our hero is a courier of some kind and arrives at the Abandoned Warehouse District to make a pick-up, but instead stumbles into a terrorist lair. An evil scientist mastermind has mixed up a nasty virus (using a leaf somehow) and has the politician's daughter hostage to boot. As man on the spot, our courier takes on the scientist's goons in a series of strangely edited action scenes, rescuing the hostage, and then going back to finish the job (although weirdly not taking the gun the politician's daughter has managed to acquire with him) when he realises all other help is too far away. He stops the scientist with some help from the belatedly returning former hostage (and her gun) - but DUN DUN DUNNNNN, the closing shot shows she isn't looking entirely well. This film looked really nice and had some great props and costumes going on, but was based on a fairly generic sort of a premise and featured some strange editing decisions through the middle that made the whole piece seem very disjointed when watching (although heck, maybe you guys just ran short of time on the edit - I know that's happened to us). Held up very well technically though, and I'll be interested to see what you produce next time.

A radio report while our hero has breakfast, explains that Nicky Brick is still missing. A short time later he arrives at an unsecured warehouse looking to pick up a coffee machine I believe. While poking around to try and found someone he stumbles upon a rather ominous looking missile and Nicky Brick tied to a chair. The plot thickens as a mad scientist enters the fray and we learn that he is concocting a virus! Our hero and Nicky manage to escape but the issue of the missile must still be dealt with! Looked and sounded good. Kitchen/breakfast intros are really popular in this competition! Nice smoke, effects and lighting. Also a good use of music - it really was a great fit for this film. Minimal dialogue and a nice twist ending goes some way to save a rather vanilla feeling story. As usual, a pretty good piece of work from this new incarnation of a veteran 48HR entrant.
