Insidious Pleasures

This film follows the aftermath of a serial killer who's calling card is a leaf placed in his victim's mouths. This was one bizarre short! Storyline was a bit vague/unpolished, but the film's WTF factor and humor definitely pushed story to the back of my mind. Liked the title sequence, had a very Se7en-esque feel and look to them. Also liked the opening sequence with the green ambulance, quite nicely shot and exposed. A weird little film, the result of a curve-ball genre.

Well done for sticking to the genre. A difficult one to achieve. This film sticks in my mind for some weird reason, not sure if thats a good or bad thing.

The film begins with a tedious collection of a body by a green ambulance. Uopn examination a leaf is discovered in the victims (still moving!) mouth - the calling card of a serial killer. We flash to the crime where a green full lyric suit wearing villain makes his kill. In a long erotic scene we witness his obsession with leaves and the story gets weirder from there! Very cool opening title sequence with its obvious nod to Se7en. Cool music with its dark sinister tone and visually this film was great to look at. Really short though and I wonder if you had more of a story to tell here. One of the more memorable films of the night but for me it was a case of WTF was that actually about. It was certainly more comedic than tense and so the "thrill" aspect was sadly lacking.
