Fun, with some nice self-aware humour from the lead actor. The other actors weren't as convincing, and the effects generally were a little bit cheap. The Other Guys-esque freeze frame movement looked good though and a nice use of the required element. The opening shot was nice, but some of the shots just didn't really cut together despite generally looking pretty good. I liked the ending, and the use of the character, but I think the story could have been built a little bit better.
Our lead is tied and beaten by some interrogating thugs who believe they have incriminating evidence of their super powers, and want to know how they acquired them. There were a couple of nice gags and the special effects were simple but effective but the comedy was rather cheesy. To me it felt like it was missing another act either the capture of our main actor, or else more of a payoff once the reveal came. Obviously the camera work at the end made everyone sit up and take notice, and more of that could have been more beneficial as the film felt a little static otherwise.
Technical issues (sound mainly) distracted me from the film at the very start... There were fun moments on this film but sadly it wasn't enough to save the film nor these add much to the story.. At the ending there was that cool motion shot but it was in big contrast to the rest of the movie...

STORY: 3/5 CINEMATOGRAPHY: 3/5 EDITING: 3.5/5 SOUND DESIGN/SCORE: 2/5 This was one of my favourite ones of heat 1. The young team here really captured the essence of 48 hours and created something that was interesting to watch. They could brush up 'technically' on a few elements, but it all seems to be the beginning of a team to watch out for in future. Very adventurous with their final shot which was a cool idea but could have been executed better. Story is the same, execution was what let you down.
These guys (and gals) have a lot of potential. Clever story, funny dialouge, well acted and a fantastic freeze frame shot (im not sure how they did it but it looked good). Let down by poor sound in parts. However if they get their technical elements sorted they will be contenders in the future.
Fun film, really liked the cheeky lead actor, including the scene where he inexplicably decides to eat a mysterious orb that was in his garden. Loved the almost too obvious placement of the "hey, it's Nicky Brick" line. The special effects for the most part seemed to work given the tone of the film (a little bit cheesy, worked for me!), but the moving stop-start freeze frame shot at the end looked really impressive up there on the big screen.

Soundtrack really suited the feel the short was trying to evoke, and acting was very well done. That said, it flowed too quickly. The story and the characters could've been developed a lot more, and help make the last scene more significant. The dialogue, especially in the garden scene, sounded cheesy and over the top at points, but that made it feel more like an actual superhero film.

Fun movie, nice and fun, like macaroni cheese. One of the better movies of its heat. Possibly a bit short though. Good effort for 48 hours.
