A detective is asked to interrogate a lady who is involved with a series of murders and robberies. This short was a very nice classic noir style, shot well, with good attention to lighting and detail in costumes/sets. The ending wraps everything up nicely. Like most 48hour shorts audio recording lacked in areas. The story was good, although its been seen before many times, possibly adding in a different dynamic or plot device could of been an improvement. but overall a clean complete short. Great effort.

The black/white cinematography went really with this film, creating a dark noir atmosphere. Dialogue was very witty, with some decent characterisation. However, the story was quite generic with hardly any twists and something that has already been seen many times. Otherwise, great film and I liked it a lot!

A typical Chromatic film. Crime is most certainly a genre they enjoyed. Film noir looked great and had some great dialogue but once again their film dragged. I could compare this film with their efforts last year as the whole film was basically dominated by one scene, this year being the interview. Some dodgy audio when the mic wasn't facing the character speaking but it's 48 hours so it happens! Predictable ending with twist wasn't as effective as it could have been but a good effort anyway!

There has been a crime. A murder in an alley. A john has been stabbed. A dame is suspected. Vic is on the case. Another film noir effort this year. Good costuming, mood and this was nicely shot and edited. The acting was pretty effective and the story was pretty well written. However, it's such a tired old story and it was never really taken anywhere fresh here. I did wonder about the use of cell-phones as well. The sound was a bit variable in places too. A good solid effort. Well done!

I really enjoyed this film, and thought the cinematography was excellent. The first ten or so seconds where the shot panned down a wall, with sunlight spilling into the bedroom was done brilliantly.

I really enjoyed how they created a film noir type of a movie. It, to me, really made the movie. I enjoyed the acting and the story seemed really well written.

A crime story in a classic noir mold, and the filmmakers committed to it almost fully (the presence of occasional mobile phones being the only obvious anachronism in the implied time period). I appreciated the attention to detail, with one good example being that they gave the close-up of the dame a soft-focus effect, as was the convention for this period of Hollywood. The dialogue as written showed a solid understanding of all the familiar tropes of gumshoe phrasing, and the performers, while not completely even, and with the occasional dodgy accent, did an admirable job. The lead guy in particular I found to be very watchable. Very much style over substance here, but at least the style was done very well, and could be appreciated for its own sake.

Probably my favourite Chromatic film. Being a huge fan of noir myself I was very happy to see a homage to it in this day and age. Costumes, dialogue and cinematography, and the only technical issue I noticed was the audio spiking during the interrogation. However, the story is what let this one down for me. The twist at the end made very little sense to me, and it dragged in the middle, but overall another solid entry from Chromatic. Well done!

Great intro. Very cool opening shot. Great close-up of the clock. I liked the wipe and the dutch angle. I liked the classic phone ring noise. lol @ the hat outline. Nice, clear dialogue. Excellent. Nice dolly shot when they're talking. Her audio isn't quite as nice as his, sadly. Loved the Noir one-liners. Great, fitting music. Great acting by the girl and Vic. The tapping on the table was painfully loud. Great alarm clock. Much nicer than all the awful digitals. Nice twist ending. Very stylish.
