i had to wonder how the killings were done they looked so real haha so kudos to that, and it was so funny, my favorite of the night. it looked well thought out awesome guys.

One of the best films of all 5 heats. When this film first appeared on the screen I was like "wow... now we have a film". Very high production value, short simple story to follow and great acting from the male leads. This film had some hilarious moments, the 'Vic Meyer killings' and the 'Kill at the end' was just too funny. I also enjoyed the Insomniac element of this film. One of the most polished looking films so far good luck for the rest of the competition.

fast snappy and well delivered. Good job done all around

I don't think I could fault this film. As far as 48 hour films go I think you guys really hit the nail on the head. The story was simple yet very funny and effective, the locations and characters were outstanding, the costumes and props were extremely authentic and your actors did an amazing job. The camera work and editing was done to a very professional standard and the special effects were awesome. Well done, I cant believe this standard of film can be made in only 48 hours! I really look forward to seeing some more work in the future from electric shoelace.

Yeah some really nice work here (but we've come to expect great things for you guys so that was no surprise!). Really nicely shot! The opening sequence was slick as. One of the things I liked most was how tight and efficient it was - basically centering the majority of the film around one shot. Also loved how you used the insomniac trait, it was just a small detail that was slipped in skillfully. If I had to pick holes (and I do because that's just how I roll), I kinda felt like it was a lot like your film from last year (Dunedin winner) - 'Do the Knight Thang' mark II (albeit more polished and cohesive). Same style and character dynamics, so it loses a few points for originality and ambition. Was a bit predictable as well. However, these are afterthoughts in such a solidly constructed short. A definite regional finalist and a contender for Dunedin winner.

This is my pick of the bunch. In my opinon, it is the best film I have seen out of all the entries in Dunedin this year. This is one of the films where I realised at the end that I hadn't written anything down, because the standard was so high I'd forgotten I was watching a 48hours film. Your setting was great, and I loved the imaginary world you had created. Bravo to your art department. Fantastic acting, and characters were supported by some very well written dialogue. Your cinematography was very effective, and your sound well mixed. Well done, hope to see you in the National final.
