Technically super smoothe, acting performances fantastic and a brilliant take on a difficult genre as our lead was immobilised for hours in an attempt to woo the girl of his dreams. The sound levels peaked a bit high a couple of times but those are minor quibbles. I won’t give too much away but art and pills and provocateurs really do work well on screen together. 4.5/5

These guys always do beautiful looking films, but something doesn't quite click for me. It was clever and had all the right elements, but I dunno, just felt like it lacked a little soul. Nevertheless, probably the standout film of the night in terms of professionalism.

Probably my favourite. Funny, but achieved earnestly, as opposed to the self-conscious kiwi humour that we get so much of. Slickly done and nicely performed by all actors involved. The plotting for the front end was a little inexplicable, but it came together.

This was a fun film. Great performances, especially from the lead and the guy playing Vic Meyer. It probably could have been quicker with the set up and spent a bit more time with the art students and played more with the immobilised aspect - but overall I felt it was solid twist on the genre with some fun performances.

This film started off slowly, but boy did it pay off well! One of the better entrants from this heat, it really nailed a unique spin on the immobilised genre. Probably the best film in the heat in most production aspects.

This was my fav. from the heat. Yes thought the immobilized aspect was clever and got some good laughs. Some good acting from some familiar faces.

This is one of those films that you almost cringe at how well made it is. The acting was a highlight for me, I was a huge fan of how charismatic the lead was and how awkward Vicki was without being too much. It was well shot and the gags were hilarious (perhaps a little 'been-there-done-that) but the thing that really holds this one together was that moment that links to the start. I didn't know where the main guy was or how he got there at the beginning, which sparked my curiosity. Finding out his predicament at the end was a joy, and it's things like this that set films a-part from the rest, story-wise. Bravo, I won't be surprised to see this one in the City Finals line-up.
