Interference

I was so enamored with this film that the notes I scribbled down (blindly, while staring at the screen) read as follows: - ENERGY - INTRO!!!!!!!! - Sulky girl

Fantastic intro and really great camera work and music! Did a great job with crafting the team dynamics that matched the style of the film. The ending let the film down however as it was very vague and seemed completely out of the blue rather than a good set up twist/shock. Up until the last few scenes though the film was killer!

Slick editing with the basketball scenes. Love the macabre ending which was hilariously out of the blue and irrelevant to anything else that had happened, which I think was a great shock ending. The pregnancy part was a great decoy and threw me off guard. The acting was top notch, of course. And production quality was amongst the highest for the heat.

Pros: Great editing. Great energy. Very engaging. The shirt removals! Cons: I just didn't understand the ending at all. Maybe those cut in shots needed to be a little longer--was I meant to know who that was?

What a start to a film! Was looking out for this team again - especially after last years short. And, boy can they deliver... The style, writing and editing/ production value were just perfect. They definitely know their strengths and obviously love what they do. And, so this short rocked along with some real energy right up until the ending. Now, to be fair what they were wanting to shock us with was pretty effective, except it was all pretty much lost on me and a few others as we weren't quite sure what exactly was going to happen with the baby... But more importantly though, they lost me with all the characters deciding to walk/run away from the next door neighbour laying on the ground, kinda bleeding(?) but awake. I mean the characters just seemed like the kind that would help her up and get her inside... So to run away... Weeeeeell, *humph* it just killed it unfortunately. Which is mighty disappointing as this (although still lights ahead of the majority on the night) was looking like another potentially winning entry. Bummer - but still awesome...

Excellent entry again from cinema in decline, who are one of the top teams to watch. Not only high production values each year, but also a great sense of humour (possibly the best of 48 hours). This year's entry only doesn't top last year's because of the ending - shock ending yes, but could have concluded better. Still thumbs up!

i really like the multiple plays on the Basket Ball term 'interference' and the way Basket Ball seemed to infect the entire agenda of the film makers. As with a decoy pass, the neighbor's gruesome accident is a classy feint. The moment spawns a whole other grim interference for the true shock ending. This trickery shows how effortlessly the writers have been ducking and weaving - interfering with the audience's natural efforts to predict and understand the plot. We'd been toyed with. Someone got interfered with. Nice writing. Great idea, Great title, Great comedic timing. Absolutely choice bangin eighties music. Top notch. Back to the neighbor's predicament: i thought i saw something as if out of a scene from 'The Philadelphia Experiment'. Was this the final clinching eighties tribute? Reality destabilized by an interference field from some improbable b-grade scientific event? A random intervention akin to 'Life of Brian's alien flyby? And reason enough to flee for sure if your bravado's only shirts-off skin-deep? On second screening - and i'd awaited this so eagerly - i realized I'd invented this impression. There was no ozone in the air. No limbs embedded in concrete. More like... the ball got her. And of course it would. Slightly disappointed Ive chosen to remember it my silly way - if my mind's going to do that much embellishment i might as well capitalize on it. Its bloody strange how a brain - the final trickster in the process path - will fake a pass to satisfy its own need for more information.
