Claws and Effect

Crab Crab Crab must win the best costume with this film; the human lobster was superb. Great film, good cartoon backgrounds, and interesting interpretation of the Crime genre. With the fascist claw symbols and police state, this film could have fit nicely into the Dystopian genre too. And I laughed hard. Well done.

Loved the computer generated backgrounds Good ramping up the intensity. I would have liked to see something at the end to wrap it all up in a bow or make a final forceful point.

A PSA on crime within an alternate society policed by crustaecous overlords. Crab, Crab, Crab have a history of producing alternative shorts for this competition and they've done it again this year in producing a PSA that contains illustrated back drops, and informative/controlling dancing, singing crayfish. Fun, audience engaging and visually pleasing (although not as striking as 2015) but terribly light on story and a bit of a one-trick pony really Still, wouldn't surprise me if we saw it again in the finals.

YEEEEEP, very fun film from a very entertaining team. Started nice and weird. And developed and built on its strangeness very nicely. Good way to tackle the genre! City finalist for sure

Again very quirky and beautifully executed. The PSA idea was very smart but felt light but still very ahead of most of the competition so I expect to see this one in the city finals.

Crab Crab Crab makes the only films in this competition I enjoyably watch more than once (other than my own ones). In fact their film last year I can't remember how many times I watched it. I really admire the sheer amount of content and effort put in. Awesome stuff!

Taking the crime genre to the next level, i really enjoyed watching what i thought was a light-hearted educational film turn into something of a propaganda piece. Hilarious costume and style.
